The one with the beginning...

So maybe it's time to actually reveal what happened when I arrived here...

My first experience with Portugal was that I didn't understand what anyone said. Honestly it sounded like they whispered and talked as if they were to lazy to pronounce any word. But my second experience was better because that was my fellow student João who waited for me at the airport. Even though it was early in portuguese terms (eleven o'clock', that's like late in Sweden but ok) he waited there with his Brazil t-shirt and even though I didn't meet his expectations of being blond he drove me to the students residence where I would live for a start. Of course there was noone there so we couldn't get in. Met a german guy outside who had the same problemn so we chatted for a while and then some girls open the door and we could enter only to find a phone number, that of course was out of order at first but 'til the end a man came to give us the keys. The worries didn't stop there if you'd think so. My name wasn't on the list for rooms, how about that?! I had sent every paper I should and even stressed with it and not even then did it work, but luckily I had my fellow student to talk to this man, who by the way didn't speak any english at all! Anyway I got a room at the end, and there were some girls already there but João had already planned my day so I just throw my stuff in the room and grabbed my wallet and my phone and we hit the city.

He drow me around for a while until we got to his flat where I met his parents, Pedro - his brother and their nephews. Then we went, the whole family to Expo for lunch. I was thrilled by this wonderful place on earth!

All pictures are from Expo, which is just a big area full of amazing (and interesting) architecture. I love this place!

The most famous building must be the pavilion which really is an amazing construction.

So back to the story. I had a great day, talking to João's family about everything. And honestly everyone is sooo nice! After dinner we went for a ride with the cable cars you can see on the picture, with a great view of the city. Then João and Pedro took me to Sintra, with the colourful castle (but we never went up there), to some cool beaches and to have the best icecream in the world!! At Santini's in Cascais!! Yammiii!! =)) Been there several times already ;-)

Wow we went to so many places I got home quite late and then I met all the 12 girls living in my doorm. During the time I've been away, Nadege, a french girl had become my roommate. And there were more people from France, Germany, Italy, Belgium and Estonia. Cool =) The best part about the students hall was the fact that no guests ere allowed after 23.00 hahaha. Talk about being in kidnergarten! And if you thought that's just a rule, you should have seen João's (the man working there) face getting really angry when we had late parties with people not belonging to the residence hhihih. He actually went through the whole building every night (except for the weekend hehe)

I thinik this post is big enough already so I'll just stop here and next time I'll tell you all about the game bewteen Sporting - Inter/Milan that I saw live and how it is to eat snails.... ;-)

Hasta la vista baby!
